Make videos from ChatGPT

Add txtreel to ChatGPT once. Describe the video: it writes the conversation, renders the MP4 and hands you the link. Setup: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode, then Settings → Plugins, and paste https://txtreel.com/mcp. Example prompt: Make a WhatsApp video where my mom finds out I quit my job to become a DJ. Dark mode, under 20 seconds.

2. Add it to ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. ChatGPT tags it “elevated risk” because it allows connectors it hasn't reviewed.
  2. Go to Settings → Plugins, click + to create one, name it txtreel, choose a public endpoint with no authentication, paste the URL and create it.
  3. In a new chat, open the + menu, pick txtreel and ask for a video.

Developer mode is available on paid ChatGPT plans, on the web. ChatGPT renames these menus often: if a label differs, search Settings for “Developer mode”.

No connector?

Every editor has a Write with AI button: it copies a prompt that makes any assistant answer in the script format, and you paste the answer back. Open the editor.

Questions

Do I need a txtreel account?

No. The connector needs no login and no API key. The same fair-use limits as the website apply.

Where do the videos go?

The AI gets a download link that works for 24 hours. Screenshots also show up directly in the chat.

Can I edit a video the AI made?

Ask the AI to change it and render again, or copy the script it wrote into the editor on this site and tweak it by hand.

My photos don't show up.

Through the connector, photos must be public https links to an image. Uploading a photo from your computer only works in the website editor.
